What are BIOS?
Bios (Input/Output System) is some times refered to CMOS is
pre-programmed chip located various places on your motherboard and configures your hardware devices.
Your BIOS starts up the computer, initializes the hardware devices, and provides instruction up to the installed operationg system.
New computers use Flash BIOS which does not require to replace the chip on your motherbaord to upgrade the BIOS.
Old motherboard use ROM BIOS that require removal of the chip to upgrade the BIOS.
Normally, you do not need to upgrade the BIOS at all but for same reason if you have to,
download the BIOS Upgrade Program matching your motherboard from the manufacturer.
If your computer is not detecting newly installed hardware, than that is the time you need BIOS update.
Your motherboard manufacturer will have instruction of how to update BIOS using their own software.
What you should know
You will not have to concern about computer
BIOS unless you are having hardware issues such
as comuter not dectecting new hardware. If you have to update your BIOS
make sure you are updating to a version that is compatible with your computer system.
